4.25x8.25x8.5" illustrated cardboard box w/die-cut display lid contains 7.5" wide plastic base battery-operated play telephone w/separate plastic handset attached w/coiled cord. Marx, ©1966 NPP, Inc. Partially styled after the red batphone seen in the 1966 "Batman" TV series, handset is shaped like Batman's head and has sticker image of him w/additional bat symbol sticker. To our knowledge, this was the only batphone toy produced during the 1966 batmania craze. Box features some comic illustrations and notes toy says ten different phrases, some of which are listed on box. Battery compartment is clean but talking function is not working. Display lid has been punched and box shows lt. scattered edge wear/aging. VF overall. Small melt mark on top of phone body. Some aging/edge wear to phone stickers, but phone is o/w VF. Rare as boxed.
