Item Description
7.5" long silk in an 8.5x13.5" matted display. Similar to Sullivan/Fischer MVB-13 & 14. Ribbon is held in place behind a thin sheet of mylar and is not affixed to backing board. Standing portrait of Van Buren holding a scroll reading "Independent Treasury Bill July 4th 1840" not to be confused w/a similar design used for his 1848 campaign that is more frequently available. The Spartan Association was a group of Irish Catholic New Yorkers affiliated w/Tammany Hall who banded together to get out the vote for the Democratic party.
