Item Description
1-7/16x2-5/8". The Tolstoi tobacco brand is one of the rarest of all T206 manufacturers. Marquard (1886-1980) began his MLB career w/a single pitching appearance for the New York Giants during the final week of the 1908 baseball season. Rube would remain w/the Giants until 1915 when he moved on to Brooklyn in mid-season followed by a stop in Cincinnati before closing out his career w/the Boston Braves in 1925. Elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1971. Boldly signed in blue ink. At the time of cataloging, PSA/DNA pop report indicates that this is the only signed example of this rare cigarette brand card ever graded by PSA, a true 1/1.
