Item Description
16.5x22" on medium coarse stock. Promoting a concert put on by Al Hayward & John Scher at Wall Stadium on Aug. 15 featuring Jefferson Airplane & J. Giles Band. Pin holes in corners, tape lift at top right corner, four horizontal creases and scattered foxing. Verso has tape pulls around edges and scattered faint foxing. VG. Only example known to us. The Township committee balked at the concept of a large scale concert in the area attempting to shut down Scher, the noted promoter then early in his career before Woodstock '99. Having already put up the $10,000 advance to secure Jefferson Airplane and deep in advertising costs he sued the Township, they countersued and the case went before a judge. The Township argued that a prior folk festival had seen many attendees openly use drugs and that the township wished not to expose youth to marijuana. The court sided in favor of Scher, though some guidelines were required to be met, and the show went on without an incident.
