Item Description
1.5x2.25" card from the second of three annual issues during the Puerto Rican League winter seasons, these cards are similar to the previous year's set. 216 cards in the set. Glossy bw photo front w/text on back in red which serves as a "Play" designation for use as a card game.
Summers played the infield, outfield and catcher during a career that spanned three decades. He began with the Baltimore Elite Giants in 1938 and played in the Mexican League in the 1940s. He played for the US based Minor League San Diego Padres in the early 1950s and finished his baseball career at age 40 with three games for the Yakima Bears in 1956. He is the father of Mexican League superstar Jesus Summers.
