Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8". The 1947-66 Exhibits, manufactured and distributed by the Exhibit Supply Company of Chicago, Illinois, consists of more than 330 cards. Each card features a sepia or black-and-white action or portrait photograph with the player's name written in script, emulating the player's signature, near the bottom of each in white or black.
Lawrence Eugene Doby was an American professional baseball player in the Negro Leagues and Major League Baseball (MLB) who was the second black player to break baseball's color barrier and the first black player in the American League. Some career highlights include being a seven time All-Star, a two time AL Home Run leader in 1952 and 1954 as well as a World Series Champion in 1948. Larry Doby was inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1998. The autograph on this is bold and very well placed on the card as to be clearly visible. This signed copy is one of only three examples ever graded by PSA with only one other graded higher.
