Item Description
2.5x3.5". The 1961 Fleer Baseball set consists of 154 cards, each commemorating the career of a Hall of Fame inductee or National Pastime hero. Issued in two series, each card bears a full-color portrait resting against a colored background; a pennant-shaped logo at the bottom of the card contained the player's name, with stars along the sides and stripes at the lower border. As with Fleer's prior year's entry, the 1961 set carried with it a wide selection of Hall of Famers.
Charles Herbert "Red" Ruffing (1905 - 1986) was an American professional baseball player. A pitcher, he played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1924 through 1947. Career highlights include being a six time All-Star, Monument Park honoree and six time World Series champion. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1967. Autograph is distinct and well placed in the center of the card. This signed copy is the only example graded by PSA at this level with only five others ever graded higher.
