1-5/16" white metal designed by Lovett for use during the 1866 elections. Front has high relief portrait and reads "Andrew Johnson President U.S." Reverse extensive text reads "National Union Convention Held At Phila.: Aug. 14. 1866/The People Must Be Trusted With Their Own Government." N. Mint with proof-like finish. A gorgeous condition medal to represent this president for which few objects are available.
