Item Description
Cornelius Vanderbilt was chairman of the welcoming committee which staged elaborate festivities at the Battery in NYC.  3.5" tall badge has N.Y. state seal on hanger.  Very small discoloration of fabric and a 1.25" likely silver-plated white metal medallion.  Front pictures "Theodore Roosevelt" and reverse with torch, ribbon and olive wreath design reads "Roosevelt/Reception Committee/June 18, 1910."  While not as graphic as the TR/Ark Welcome Home buttons used that day that sell for thousands, a very limited issue for the actual members of the committee.  Rare.  VF.
