Auction #182 - Part II
Item numbers 1500-3431 in auction 182
Item Description
3x4x6.25" tall all tin litho toy w/built-in key. Comes in nicely illustrated box. 1950s. Box has wrap-around design repeated twice of Donald drummer being followed by his nephews who also play instruments. Additional Donald portrait appears on top and bottom flaps. Box has overall scattered pinpoint tan spotting but really not that distracting as color remains strong and vibrant. Box has lt. edge wear and while the top two inner flaps remain intact, each has strip of clear tape added to inside surface. Fine. Toy depicts Donald holding a pair of drumsticks and attached to his belly is a drum w/Donald portrait on drum head. Toy works and he plays the drum and is version that walks forward rather than standing stationary (see #2531). White areas of body have st. aging, mostly on lower half of body at seams and tabs on back. Toy remains totally bright and glossy, just some scattered minute paint nicks. Still an Exc. example and scarce w/box.
