Item Description
Framed to an overall size of 39x51", the die-cut cardboard sign itself is 34x43". ©1938. Depicts the dwarfs and forest animals gathered around a ham which Snow White is carving. At top right is portrait of a black chef with text underneath "The Ham What Am." Sign has heavy and obvious all-over wear and aging including moisture staining, dust soiling, color rubs, etc. There are also a couple dozen nail-size holes as this was once mounted to a wall but most of those blend. Doc who appears at left center has the top of his hat loose from the sign and this has shifted somewhat as framed so while it is still here it does not line up as it should. Overall condition is just Fair to Good but this is a very rare sign, the first we've ever offered and still quite displayable as framed. Despite the wear, the opening bid has been conservatively set by the consignor when factoring in the sign's rarity and cost of the framing.
