Item Description
Mirror finish white metal 1-5/16" (34mm) showing him with his rank, name and "U.S. Army" on the obverse while reverse reads "We Can Ask No Higher Honor Than The Proud Consciousness That We Belong To The Army Of The Potomac." DeWitt notes the medal likely appeared while McClellan was still in the Army but states "This Medalet Undoubtedly Received Circulation During The Presidential Campaign In View Of McClellan's Popularity With The Soldiers Of The Army Of The Potomac." Superb example, essentially Mint.
