Item Description
15.5x19.5" reproduced painting in 19x23" overall wood frame. c. 1950s. Label on back explains "Keep Going/Reproduced In Tindogravure From The Original Painting By William Medcalf." Lengthly text explains the appeal of John McGraw, shown in the clouds in the painting cheering on the young ballplayer as he races around 3rd base. McGraw was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Cooperstown in 1937 after a long and successful career as both an infielder and manager. Medcalf has offered here a Rockwell-like image of the determination of the young ballplayer. A delightful/inspiring presentation. Moderate wear/aging to frame. Fine. Picture is Exc.
