Item Description
Two-volume book copyright 1931 first edition. 6.5x9.5". 400 plus pages each. Portrait and photos of General John J. (Blackjack) Pershing. Inscription reads "For Josephine And Harold M. Rayner, With Sincere And Affectionate Good Wishes John J. Pershing/Nov. 1931" in bold ink. Rayner was an Olympic fencing star in 1912, '16, '20 holding many national and international titles. He is featured in the Museum of American Fencing. A 1912 West Point graduate, he became one of President Harding's military aides. Published by Frederick A. Stokes Co. and dedicated to "The Unknown Soldier." Each bound volume has a facsimile signature of Pershing on the front cover. Both volumes have the title "My Experiences In The World War/Pershing." Light wear to bindings. Contents both text and photos is Exc. Signature/inscription bold. Overall VF. Comes with Hake's COA.
