Image is very similar to the 1930s salt & pepper set by Beswick of England, but this is an unauthorized version with open planter compartment on reverse. c. 1930s. Upper back corners have 2 minor hairlines which have been restored and are invisible to the naked eye. Mark under base is a red horseshoe shape above "Japan."
