Item Description
5.5x18.5" strip contains 2-panel story, first panel featuring both Lone Ranger and Tonto. Second panel features Silver. Art by Charles Flanders, the Lone Ranger daily strip artist from 1939 until 1971. Flanders is also noted for his work on "Secret Agent X-9" and "King Of The Royal Mounted" Sunday pages. Strip ran Apr. 16, 1960 and has the Lone Ranger Inc. copyright paste-on in first panel. Flanders has also signed in first panel. Zipatone has been applied to bodies in strip. Light aging, most noticeable along margin. .25" spot of soiling on Tonto word balloon. Fine. Approximatetly 7.5x22" "Cisco Kid" daily strip from first year of strip contains 3-panel story, featuring a sleeping and dreaming Cisco Kid with first panel dream balloon showing Cisco Kid and Pancho eating a Thanksgiving turkey. Art by Jose Luis Salinas. Strip Nov. 22, 1951 and has KFS copyright paste-on in middle panel. Cisco Kid also has toning paste-on in this panel. All panels feature white ink detailing to Cisco Kid's black shirt. Top and bottom margins are uneven due to separation from larger sheet. Aging and soiling at margins. Fine with art area remaining Exc.
