Item Description
7x28-5/8" strip contains 4-panel story with pen and ink art by Charles Schulz. Strip ran Dec. 23, 1965 and has United Features Syndicate Inc. copyright paste-on in second panel. Christmas-themed strip deals with Lucy writing letter to Santa Claus as brother Linus looks on. "Dear Santa Claus, Just A Little Note Before You Take Off. I Always Worry About You. I Hope You Are In Good Health. Please Drive Carefully. Have A Good Trip. Affectionately Yours Lucy Van Pelt (Your Friend) P.S. Merry Christmas Lucy (Your Very Good Friend)XXXXXXXXX (Kisses)." Followed by last panel showing Linus by himself and word balloon "Bleah!" as he sticks his tongue out. This is the original art that Schulz submitted to the syndicate for publication and as such there is a fold visible down between the second and third panels due to Schulz mailing original art to syndicate. Fold does not interfere or affect any panel. Top margin is signed in blue ink "For Wendy - Best Wishes - Charles M. Schulz." .75x2.5" area of staining affecting "Wendy" making it blurry. First panel has 3.25x3.25" area of staining, not affecting actual art. Strip has light handling wear and is Fine.
