Large 16x17x19" tall corrugated cardboard box appears to have originally held one gross of candy boxes containing "Surprise And Candy Chews." This carton is specifically for the "Captain Space" series by Leader Novelty Candy Co. Inc. They produced a number of candy box series including those for Superman and Prince Valiant. 1950s. Front panel features scene of Captain Space along with another spaceman, space city is in the bkg. with rocketships flying overhead including large rocket at center with "Captain Space" name. Back panel has additional image of this ship. Box has all-over obvious wear and aging and was once used for storage of Christmas ornaments as indicated by writing on the top flaps. Side panels have some additional writing. Front panel scene has scattered edge creases and small trace of surface paper wear including a 1x2" piece missing from flames of large rocketship. Overall just VG but rare and the only such candy box carton we've ever seen.
