Auction #182 - Part II
Item numbers 1500-3431 in auction 182
Item Description
2-7/8x5-1/8" card signed by Geronimo, the famous Apache raider. He was one of the last of the "Native American Rebels" who resisted the government-ordered removal of his people. He led a campaign against the U.S. government from the 1870s until his capture in 1886. Later, a more domesticated Geronimo appeared at events including the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair where he sold pictures of himself and autographs for 10, 15, 25¢. This beautiful signed card has his very distinct and elaborate signature w/striped "G" which he used often. Signed in ink. Card has lt. tanning, a few pinpoint spots at top of card but o/w Mint. Very rare.
