Item Description
Timely Publishing gathered up the best heroes they could find and put them together in one single book. They did not interact, that would come 19 issues later, but they each had a tremendous adventure on their own. While they didn’t interact within the context of a comic story, they did inside a text piece written by Stan Lee. This text is considered to be the very first appearance of the All Winners Squad. Appearing in stories this issue are Captain America and Bucky, the Human Torch and Toro, the Sub-Mariner, the Angel and the Black Marvel. The book features a fantastic cover by Golden Age giant Alex Schomburg. The interior art was handled by Jack Kirby, Joe Simon, Carlos Burgos and Bill Everett. The title lasted 21 issues, but #20 was never published. The book is CGC-certified NM- 9.2 by CGC. According to their census, this copy is tied with one other as the highest graded copy.
