Item Description
Early covers of Timely Comics are some of the most action-packed covers you will ever find. This cover is no exception. Bolts are flying off of machinery, monsters are operating levers, futuristic machines are creating danger, and at the center of it all is the Human Torch. He is trying as hard as possible to rescue his friend from the dangers that surround him. The detailed cover art is created the great Alex Schomburg. One of the most respected cover artists of the Golden Age, Schomburg is known for the incredible sense of energy that his covers convey. In addition to the Schomburg cover, this issue contains work by several of the Golden Age’s best artists. Carl Burgos, Bob Oksner, Al Gabriele, and Syd Shores all contribute to the interior. Burgos also contributes a story as does the master of the detective novel, Mickey Spillane. The book is CGC-certified VF- 7.5 by CGC. The pages are off-white. According to the CGC census, this is the third highest graded copy. $1,000.
