Item Description
From his first appearance in Hit Comics #25, Kid Eternity stood out as something special. Created by Otto Binder with original art provided by Sheldon Moldoff, his origin was different than any other hero of the time. Traveling with his grandfather, the ship they were on was sunk by the Nazis. The Gatekeeper of the Afterlife let grandpa right in, but the Kid was supposed to have lived another 75 years! The error was due to a mistake made by an entity known as “The Keeper.” It was his first mistake in 2 million years. Sent back to Earth to correct the error, the Kid was able to summon anyone from history to help him solve problems. The Keeper stayed by his side, having resigned from his other job, and together they went out to help others. The character was so popular that Quality Publishing moved him into his own title after a few years, eventually seeing cancellation in 1949 after 18 issues. This is the very first issue of that title. The pages are off-white to white. The book is CGC-certified NM 9.4. According to the CGC census, this is copy is tied with one other as the highest graded copy they have seen. $1,800
