Item Description
When it comes to collecting Batman, everyone values a good Joker cover. This time out, the Clown Prince of Crime ran afoul of Lady Luck herself. In one fell swoop he broke a mirror, had a black cat walk in front of him, dropped his newspaper with the date of Friday the 13th on it, and walked under a ladder causing paint to spill on his own head. What this cover is really saying is that the Joker is now so well known that he can be counted on to help attract readers on the newsstand. The heroes of the book, Batman and Robin, look on from the wings, obviously amused. Jack Burnley does a magnificent job of capturing both the humor of the Joker’s situation as well as the Joker’s stunned reaction to everything that is going on around him. The cover displays the artist’s skill at building a good looking Batman cover by taking solid, basic colors and maximizing their appeal. The book also features interior art by noted Batman regular Dick Sprang. The pages are off-white to white. The book is CGC-certified VF/NM 9.0 by CGC. According to their census, this copy is tied with 4 others as the third highest graded copy they have seen.
