Item Description
10.5x14" first edition by Frank Beard. Beard became a famous cartoonist in the late 19th century, his cartoons appearing in "Judge." Around 1893 Beard began illustrating for "The Ram's Horn," a Christian periodical published in Chicago. Book is a full-color edition of Beard's artwork and was published by Ram's Horn Company in 1902. Cloth-bound hardcover anti-secular and pro-Christian themed cartoons include image of the Devil and various images of death and skeletons. Each image is accompanied by Bible verses. Pages show handling with a few small tears at edges. Slight separation of pages at spine but all remain tight and intact. One page has 1x1.5" chip at top margin, o/w pages are VF. Cover shows wear at spine and corners. Fine.
