Item Description
8x10" spiral bound. Random House, 1942. Nicely designed mechanical book with 10 pages. Special features include wheels to turn, segments to lift and die-cut slides to move in and out as part of the story in which the Big Bad Wolf steals Donald's treasure chest which contains something "To Help Us Win The War." The Wolf is depicted wearing his standard hat but with swastika band. The Little Wolves wear hats with Japanese and Italian symbols representing the axis. Inside back cover designed with die-cut image of Donald opening his chest and this is complete with removable Defense Savings Bonds stamp album which contains one stamp. Front cover notes "This Book Was Prepared At The Suggestion Of The U.S. Treasury Department." Contents have scattered trace of aging, small inked name inside front cover, several of the pull tabs show wear from use but all is complete and intact. Moderate scattered cover wear along edges with some surface paper rubs. Still a solid, Fine copy of this classic war years book. Scarce. From the Joel Cohen Collection.
