12-3/8x16.5" original frame w/five small veneer flakes. 9.5x13-5/8" opening. Hand-watercolored print shows oval portraits w/names below of "Hon. Steven A. Douglas Of Illinois, For President/Hon. Herschel V. Johnson of Georgia, For Vice President." Caption below reads "National Democratic Banner 1860." Printer's text at bottom in tiny letters reads "Published By Currier & Ives, Entered According To Act Of Congress In The Year 1860 By Currier & Ives In The Clerk's Office Of The District Court Of The Southern Dist. Of N.Y. 152 Nassau St., New York." Margins are evenly tanned. Clean, intense color. No stain on image area, just tiny area on left margin a shade darker than the rest. Rare and Exc.
