Item Description
1 of 3 letters offered in a series by newspapers running the Buck Rogers daily strip and it's associated club, the Rocket Rangers. c. 1940s. 7.75x10.5" trimmed letter that was sent in order to receive the "Buck Rogers Secret Interplanetory Code." This then promoted you to an "Interplanetary Scout." Trimmed along left and bottom margins, letter has been folded numerous times and shows age. Paper clip oxidation in upper right-hand corner. VG. 8.5x14" letter. Letter was enclosed with "Official Membership Card" in the Buck Rogers Rocket Rangers and gave you rank as "Flight Lieutenant" in the Earth Rocket Battalion. Folded as issued, .25" chip in upper right-hand corner and crayon in bottom right-hand corner with penciling. VG. 8.5x14" letter was printed backwards with directions "Hold This Secret Message Up To Mirror To Read It" at bottom. This letter promoted receiver to Veteran Rocket Ranger and came with "Buck Rogers Pocket Ranger Insignia" badge. Creasing along bottom margin and 1.5" split along fold line. Lightly aged, VG/Fine.
