Item Description
Brass bug is 1.25" tall and 1.5" wide when the wings fly open. The McKinley photo is a replacement but discernable only when viewed with a magnifying glass which picks up the dot screen pattern that would not be there if the photo were the original from 1896. The Hobart photo is original. The bug has extremely nice brass luster and the mechanical function works perfectly although the tab to release the wings is rather tiny and takes a fine touch. Our Exc. condition, working examples with original photos have been in the $250 range and the opening bid here accounts for the one photo replacement.
