Item Description
Hake #224. 1-1/8" tall beautifully designed eagle viewed from above as if it is flying. A tiny tab on the back allows the eagle's wings to spring open portraying real paper photos of McKinley and Hobart. Tiny wear to the photos but largely showing just with magnification and as these come, certainly extremely fine examples. In the eagle's beak is a tiny brass bug that once likely had silver flashing but as on this and other examples we've seen, the thin layer of flashing disappeared over the decades so the bug actually has a darker brass finish. The rest of the eagle has very nice brass luster and the mechanical aspect works perfectly. The first we've been able to offer in years with original photos.
