Item Description
Each celluloid button is 7/8" and most have original backpaper naming issuers such as Clix, Hassan, Perfection and Tokio Cigarettes. Four distinct groups in collection. Of the 52 pieces in this group, about half show age marks or celluloid crazing while the other half are clean and Exc. Second group is similar to first group but these are cream on blue and include a few with cartoons rather than just text. Of the 44 pieces, 10 show age stains and 34 are clean and Exc. Third and fourth groups feature cartoons, most including the name of some famous newspaper comic strip cartoonist of the day. Third group is bw version while the fourth group is full-color version. Of 77 bw buttons, 36 show age marks and/or celluloid crazing, 41 are clean and Exc. Of the full-color, 36 show age marks and/or celluloid crazing, 30 are clean and Exc.
