12.25x14.25" professionally framed and matted vintage 8x10" bw photo shows noted composer and "Father Of The Blues" W.C. Handy reading. Noted for such compositions as "Memphis Blues," "Beale Street Blues," and "St. Louis Blues" of which Handy has written a few bars of at bottom of photo. Music includes song title and lyrics "I Hate To See - The Ev'-nin Sun Go Down." Handy has signed "W.C. Handy To Harry Ruby" and dated photo "11-26-1940" all in black ink. Great photo and content of one of the most important figures in the history of the Blues. N. Mint and ready for display. Comes with Hake's COA.
