Item Description
4x6-7/8" hand-addressed envelope with Jul. 31, 1933 postmark. Envelope flap has stamped Carl T. Anderson address. Envelope shows heavy wear and aging with .75" moisture streak running along bottom margin. VG. Envelope contains hand-written 6-5/8x10" letter on unlined paper and is dated Jul. 30, 1933. Letter thanks man for his cartoon suggestions, Anderson explaining the creative process and how not all of his ideas receive approval. He finishes letter "Sincerely Yours, Carl Anderson" and includes a .75x1-7/8" tall sketch of Henry licking lollipop. Folded twice as mailed. 3/8" strip of moisture staining at bottom of letter and larger 1.5" strip on second and third lines of letter, slightly fading brown ink. VG.
