Auction #196 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 975 in auction 196
Item Description
1.5x4.5" exceptionally ornate design complete with his portrait listed in "American Political Ribbons And Ribbon Badges" by Sullivan/Fischer as GW-7. The small bust of Washington is enclosed in a large oval framed by stars and containing the text "Centennial Celebration/February 22d 1832." Above is a spread-winged eagle with shield, spray, arrows and a banner inscribed "Washingtons." On the bottom border is a floral design. Tiniest trace of tan tone on upper left corner and upper right corner has barely visible 1/8" stress line. Extremely clean overall and one of the most elaborate designs we've seen.
