Item Description
This great John W. Davis 1.25" cartoon design features the smiling "DEM." donkey with hind feet raised to kick a small teapot perched on a slightly raised dome of earth. The teapot has a puff of steam and two droplets coming from its spout. The pot is covered by a tall dome-shaped lid surrounded by tiny accent lines. On the side of the pot is a profile image of the "G.O.P." elephant. Below the button's slogan is a copyright symbol. The reverse backpaper has circular logo of "National Equipment Co./'Bim' The Button & Badgeman" with NYC address. Two most minor condition considerations: on the top edge is a barely visible 1/16" light hairline mark. Under magnification, there are tiny air marks over the button surface. However, without magnification only a single 1/16" dia. dot is barely detectable at the far lower left. An exceptional cartoon rarity that displays Exc. and is the only example known to us.
