Item Description
This 1.5" oval designed as a football is shown in the FDR section of our Political Buttons Book II with a note that it is "Probably A High School Football Button Unrelated To FDR's Campaigns." That much was accurate except that the piece is not related to FDR at all. With the aid of the text on the backpaper which reads "Play The Game/We Do/American/Security Bank/King & Nuuanu Sts./Honolulu, T.H.", we were able to learn the button in fact relates to the Honolulu Theodore Roosevelt High School which opened in 1932. The button also dates from the 1930s. N. Mint and displays Mint. Rare.
