9.25x12.25" hardcover by noted "The New Yorker" magazine cartoonist Steinberg, published by Harper & Bros. ©1949. Book, Steinberg's second, features cartoons previously appearing in "The New Yorker" and "Harper's Magazine" among others. Great stylized and sometimes abstract cartoons in the style that made Steinberg famous. Book is divided into 5 parts: "The Art Of Living, The Important People, The Domestic Animals, The Arts, The Women." As noted on interior dust jacket flap, "About Two-Thirds Of The Drawings Are Published Here For The First Time." Book features 300 of Steinberg's "Superbly Funny And Pleasantly Disturbing" drawings. Back flap has bw photo of Steinberg and biography. Dust jacket shows heavy aging and moderate wear with 1x1-3/8" chip missing to bottom front corner by spine. VG. Book itself is VF/Exc. with N. Mint contents.
