"The First Authoritave Book By An American On The Art Of Caricature" by William Auerbach-Levi, book features 4 full-color illustrations, the rest are bw illustrations of George Gershwin, Will Rogers, Ed Wynn, Bert Lahr, Charles Laughton & Elsa Lanchester, Jimmy Durante & Ray Bolger, Al Jolson, Charlie Chaplin, Joe E. Brown, Albert Einstein, Irving Berlin, Sinclair Lewis, Nelson A. Rockefeller, Babe Ruth, Milton Caniff, The Marx Brothers, Frank Sinatra, Wendell Willkie, Boris Karloff, Joseph Stalin, Bob Hope and many more. Book also includes various sketches/studies including nudes. Also included is a nice caricature scene showing Deems Taylor and Leopold Stokowski as the latter conducts "A Night On Bald Mountain" from Disney's Fantasia. Signed by author on inside front page in blue ink "To Jane B. Middleton All Good Wishes William Auerbach-Levi." Original dust jacket shows some wear at edges/corners with aging at spine. Fine. Book is Exc. with N. Mint pages. Great content.
