Item Description
5.5" long tin litho with built-in key. No manufacturer's mark but 1920s, Germany. Realistic-looking beetle-style bug works and travels along until L-shaped metal attachment senses it is going off the surface, bug then drops down and extra wheel underneath immediately turns it in a different direction. Very early adaptation of the non-fall action popular later in 1950s toys. Toy has moderate all-over paint wear to top of shell, head and legs. Still displays Fine. An interesting early action toy.
