Item Description
Oldest item is 1944 press photo, 6.5x8.25" of Thomas and wife voting in NYC. Reverse has slightly trimmed caption sheet noting Thomas as presidential candidate. Photo is clean and Exc. The button is likely from his next campaign in 1948. Its a 1-1/8" litho. Couple pinpoint paint marks but displays bright and VF. Last is 8.5x11" letter on his stationery dated Jan. 24, 1967. He was about 83 years old at that time and signature is a bit shaky, but large and clear. We've blocked out recipient's name and address as requested, but it appears on the actual letter. The recipient asked Thomas about campaign items and Thomas replies in a full paragraph that "For Some Reason That Seems Odd To Me Now, My Wife And I Decided Not To Keep Leftovers From Campaigns..." Second paragraph references book "Looking Backward" by Edward Bellamys and Thomas comments on process needed for "The Achievement Of The Right Kind Of Socialist Society." Letter has two faint mailing folds, four tiny holes from two buttons once attached at upper left and 3 tiny tan dots below the typed name. Still displays VF and 3 nice pieces to frame for display. Comes with Hake's COA.
