Both of these animated wind-up (not battery operated) timepieces were purchased by Ted Hake from a Chinese vendor just outside the perimeter Tiananmen Square on Nov. 12, 2005. The watch was new in 2005, the wind-up alarm clock is slightly older. On the watch, Mao waves his arm and hand as the seconds pass. There is also a sweep second hand with figural red star on its tip. Reverse has inscription solely in Chinese plus a star design and "502G." Working and Mint. The alarm is 3.5" tall. Large image of Mao above adoring masses.
