Item Description
10.5" tall wood with paper labels. Toy No. 705 was introduced in 1937 and made for just one year. Popeye bears 1929 King Features Syndicate Inc. copyright on leg. He is depicted riding galloping horse and bounces up and down as it is pulled along. A bit of the original pull string and material for horse's straw tail still present. Labels have typical trace of aging and edge wear. Some flaking to Popeye's hand and bottom of horse's feet on one side, flake at Popeye's shoulder on other side. Lt. wear to one side of horse from metal bar used to move Popeye up and down. VG/Fine. Scarce.
