Item Description
2-3/8" button with metal back and bar pin has been neatly over-painted in white and then a red stenciled text is applied over top. Reads "Pray For Bruce Laingen And The Hostages/We Really Care." He was the US Chargé d' Affaires. He and two other officials were at the Iranian Foreign Ministry at the time the US embassy was over-run by student protestors. Laingen and the others were held hostage 14 months until the day of Ronald Reagan's inauguration in January 1981. Couple of small paint rubs on the rim and 2 small dots off the upper right but vast majority is clean. Only example we've seen or know of.
