Item Description
Background layout/production drawing pair featuring W.C. Fields. Pair of 10x12" sheets of animation paper with art done in lead pencil with additional colored pencil accents. Opening scene title for scene 19 shows W.C. Fields as "Humpty Dumpty" sitting on wall with cane and cigar. Fields' rotund body has been caricatured to resemble Humpty Dumpty. Main image is done in red colored pencil and shows Fields with back to viewer, though secondary and lighter illustration shows movement, and his front is discernable. Drawing #36 has image area measuring 3.5x5.25" and shows Fields as Humpty Dumpty with cane and smoking cigar. From 1938 Silly Symphony. Lt. handling and aging but sheet remains clean and art is Exc.
