Item numbers 992 through 2667 in auction 197
Item Description
14x28" frame contains original pen and ink art that has been double-matted to 6x20". Four-panel strip ran Jan. 19, 1932. Strip was created by Chester Gould in 1931, making its first appearance on Oct. 4 of that year. Strip bears Gould's signature in last panel. Tracy is featured in first 3 panels with The Chief. Last panel reveals 2 members of Big Boy's crew plotting Tracy's demise as cigarette-smoking vamp plays piano. Scattered aging with bit of tape residue in bottom left corner. Fine.
