Item Description
12.25x28.5" frame contains art double-matted to 4.5x20.5". Four-panel strip ran in 1937. Strip features story and art by Alley Oop creator V.T. Hamlin who has signed his name in third panel which also has 1937 NEA Service Inc. copyright paste-over. Strip features Alley Oop in first 3 panels with his rhyming friend Foozy, first panel also has Alley Oop's pet dinosaur Dinny. Story deals with Dinny, Alley Oop and Foozy being gone for an extended period of time and catching up with third caveman. An apparent re-write of dialogue is indicated by faint pencil text underlying finished ink text. Vertical fold at center. Fine +.
