Item Description
27.75x36" quality frame contains original pen and ink art on 2 connected sheets that have been matted to 20x25". Art is for Nov. 19, 1933 strip and has ©1933 King Features Syndicate paste-over on bottom middle margin. 12-panel story involves the transport of a criminal through jungle terrain. As expected, the villain gains the upper hand and knocks his captor and native guide off bridge in crocodile-infested water. From sixth panel on deals w/villain and captor being attacked by crocodiles and then being rescued by the sure shots of Tim Tyler, who then proceeds to escort them the rest of the way until villain is in custody. While strip was created by Lyman Young ("Blondie" creator Chic Young's brother), he had artists ghost for him, this piece likely being ghosted by Alex Raymond of "Flash Gordon" fame. Light aging at margins, but o/w Exc. Great art, w/much detail to crocodiles.
