Four panel art by Gary Trudeau depicts White House in all 4 panels, a clapboard is in first panel w/title "A Farewell To Alms" and mailbox in foreground reads "Quiet!" In remaining panels mailbox goes on to read "Action! Roll! Cut!" as story progresses. Story deals w/President talking to Slackmeyer character who complains about budget cuts, stating that $62,000 a year "Just Doesn't Go As Far As It Used To." Strip ran Jan. 14, 1982 and has Universal Press Syndicate copyright in first panel. Trudeau has signed his name in last panel in black ink. A few correctional fluid touch-ups w/correctional fluid text on clapboard. Third panel has .75x1.5" area of dust soiling. VF/Exc. overall. Great political commentary. All Doonesbury original art is scarce, most only finding its way to collectors via charity auctions.
