Item Description
Lot of 3 single panel original charcoal art cartoons by "Nashville Banner" cartoonist Jack Knox, each about 11.75x15.75". First cartoon is titled "By The Beard Of Castro" and shows Castro w/his distinct military "Cuba" cap w/his "Blundering, Irrational Leadership" beard being caught in "The Economic Wringer." Second is titled "Diminishing Movement" and shows 4 panels showing crowd carrying "Viva Castro" sign and chanting "Fidel!" gradually disintegrating w/crowd leaders/revolutionaries attempting to hold back fleeing workers w/Soviet hammer and sickles. Last cartoon is titled "We Pay A Little Extra - And We Get A Little Extra" and shows Castro standing atop huge "U.S. Bonus Prices For Cuban Sugar" money bag yelling at Americans in bkg. while holding signs that read "Hate America Campaign, Down With U.S.A." Other flying signs read "We Will Fight, Hate, Death To..." Another sheet shows Soviet hammer and sickle. All 1960s. Exc. overall.
