Item numbers 1 through 972 in auction 199
Item Description
15.5x23.5”. Bold, colorful vignettes on each side of full color images of McKinley and Roosevelt. Text below candidates reads “The American Flag Has Not Been Planted In Foreign Soil To Acquire More Territory But For Humanity’s Sake”/(McKinley, July 12, 1900). Top of left side reads “1896.” Three vignettes appear below date with captions below each. First is closed factory “Gone Democratic.” Next is “A Run On The Bank.” Bottom shows starving prisoners “Spanish Rule In Cuba.” Right side has “1900” date at top with illustration of smokestacks, steamships and locomotives with caption “Gone Republican.” Next is “A Run To The Bank.” Bottom right shows a teacher in a “Public School” and farmers in the field captioned “American Rule In Cuba.” The poster overall has evenly toned with age. A number of vertical age toned lines appear above the very top text apparently caused by the corrugated backing that has held this poster into place over many years. The frame shows lt. wear, but is from the 1900 era and appears to have held this poster for many years. Displays VF.
