Item Description
16.5x22.25” elaborate frame contains professionally double-matted sheet of illustration paper with charcoal and acrylic artwork depicting imposing Egyptian mummy case with carved image of Palace Guard holding large sword. From 1943 Fleisher cartoon directed by Dan Gordon and produced by Sam Buchwald and distributed by Paramount Pictures, release date being Mar. 26, 1943. This cartoon was especially topical given the popularity of Universal’s Mummy horror movies that were being released in the early 1940s. Art was done by Shane Miller who worked for Paramount and also worked on “Gulliver’s Travels.” Exc. display as framed. All Superman 1940s cartoon original art is rare. This great piece has cross-over appeal for collectors of animation art, Superman and monsters. Great image.
